Highlights

The BMW F 850 GS is powered by an all-new 853cc, parallel-twin motor that produces 95PS of power at 8,250rpm and 92Nm of torque at 6,250rpm. The bikemaker claims the bike can clock top speeds north of 200kmph. The motor is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and also gets a wet-multi-plate clutch for smoother downshifts. The BMW F 850 GS also gets 'Road’ and ‘Rain’ riding modes with ABS and ASC to better manage tough terrains. Pro riding modes like ‘Dynamic’, ‘Enduro’ and ‘Enduro Pro’ are available as optional extras, along with dynamic traction control and ABS Pro modes. BMW engineers have equipped the bike with 43mm USD forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear to take on the rough roads. The saddle of this adventure tourer sits 860mm above the ground. Braking is managed by 305mm dual disc brakes upfront, while the rear comes with a 265mm single disc brake.

This is a good entry-level bike to start your journey of touring limitless. Riders of 5ft 4inch to 6ft can comfortably ride this bike. Asymmetrical headlamps on this bike look stunning. I strongly believe that the 850 GS is one of the most amazing motorcycles on the planet. When Indian professional racer Sarath Kumar rode it on the track at the Buddh Circuit, it clocked a very impressive lap time which is enough to prove that the 850 GS is a terrific road-going machine. Its handling capabilities are out of this world, and its wonderful 853cc twin engine has just the right amount of power for you to have a jolly good time with it. Its heavyweight can be a matter of disappointment for many riders. BMW is also going to launch the F 850 gs adventure which is a more advanced version of this bike that provides more offroading controls. This bike will compete with Triumph Tiger 900 and Honda Africa Twin. Currently available bikes which are similar to F850 GS are BMW F900XR, Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster & Ducati Multistrada 950.
